David:
This is the first real holiday we've had for about six years. OK, yes, we visit Fuerteventura five or six times a year but that's not a holiday. Honest!
What I mean is that it's been six years since we had to foresee and pack all the right clothes and belongings in a suitcase. We need a separate case for the lists we've made! Waking up at 3am and remembering something else vital. Then not being able to remember what that was at 9am!
Our spare room has looked like a boot sale, with all our pathetic belongings spread out on view.
We're travelling Virgin Premium Economy and we have a huge baggage allowance but we are restricted in India to one case and a bag small enough to take inside a coach. And then we're flying internally on smaller planes so we have an even smaller allowance for suitcase weight. But we've worked it all out. After all we are seasoned Ryanair flyers. That brings with it a certain skill.
We never got around to buying the multi-pocket Roo jackets http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rufus-Roo-POCKET-Travel-Jacket/dp/B0050IOEOK and now Ryanair's gone all fluffy we probably never will. It would have been interesting at the gate.
So. The taxi arrives at 1400. We have to get through the two areas of major roadworks on the M25 to get to Heathrow so the taxi wanted plenty of time. We don't fly until 2150 and we have an airport lounge booked at 1800. Probably our last experience of uncrowded places for 18 days!
The flight is 8hrs30 and we arrive in Delhi before lunch. Supper on the plane, and breakfast too, so there won't be much time for sleep. And there's 300 hours of in-flight entertainment to play with.
So here we go then.......................................
Have a fantastic trip.
