Sunset Cruise:
We had a couple of hours to ourselves
during the hottest part of the day which was very welcome. At 4pm we
set off for a sunset cruise looking at all the fishing boats and
seabirds.
Big boats
Life aboard the boats:
Smaller boats using these poles to hold their boats steady in the current whilst they cast small nets to catch fish
Egrets:
Sunset shots
Big disappointment/shock today a 'dry
day' at the hotel … so no wine or beer available at the bar or in
the restaurants. Instead we had sparkling water with our
evening curry. 2 small bottles of Evian water was £9 shock
horror!
David's highlight …. this is the
first time we've spent 2 nights at a hotel with laundry service.
This is how his laundered shirts came back:
Cute eh?
Very nice bow ties. You can get clothes made quickly and cheaply in India. Like the boats. Coincidence one called Philomina. Judi Dench been there before you?
ReplyDeleteThis part of the tour looks fresher and cleaner and like you can breathe without having someone right up under you.
ReplyDeleteI like David's shirts too - that would be my highlight too, lol - well, especially since I wasn't the one doing the laundry!

Hi Jo.
ReplyDeleteYes you can get clothes made quickly and cheaply but we never had enough free time to organise that. I did buy a mirrored skirt (very cheap) from a market stall and several scarves/small fabric purse/bags but that was the extent of my shopping (to David's great relief)!
Actually Judi Dench has been in India for the making of Best Exotic Marigold Hotel ... so maybe she did venture 'down South' also. Haven't seen the film Philomina yet, have you?
Yes Jan,
I liked his shirts too and its the only time he'll see them as nicely laundered/pressed as that - I don't 'do' ironing!
